Governance

The Link is a membership organisation and membership is open to individuals over the age of 18 and organisations who are approved by the Trustees. Link policy is determined by the Annual General Meeting held in February each year. All members and up to four representatives of affiliated organisations are entitled to attend the Annual General Meeting and vote on all matters. There are four classes of membership; individual, family (covering two adults in the same household), student and unwaged, and organisations. A register of members is kept and is available to any member on request, as required by the constitution approved by the charity commission.
Copies of the constitution are available on request to the Link Secretary.
The Annual General Meeting elects three officers and seven trustees who together form the Executive Committee responsible for conducting the business of the organisation between Annual meetings. The officers consist of, Chairperson, Secretary, and Treasurer. All members are entitled to make nominations for the election of officers and trustees.
The Executive Committee normally meets on a monthly basis, on the second Tuesday of the month at Norwich City Hall. All members and representatives of affiliated organisations are entitled to attend meetings of the Executive Committee and take part in discussions. However, where voting is required this is restricted to the elected members of the Committee.
